Capt. Amarinder Singh Protecting Those Who Pollute Punjab Waters: AAP

Chandigarh: Condemning Punjab govt. action to prevent leader of opposition Sukhpal Singh Khaira to reach Dhardeo drain at village Buttar Seviyan, the Aam Aadmi Party on Monday (May 28) accused Chief Minister Capt. Amarinder Singh of siding with those who have polluted the waters of Punjab. Terming Capt. Amarinder as ‘Savior of water polluters’ AAP announced its fight against liquor mafia and to take the battle to the logical end.

In a press statement issued on Monday AAP state Co-president, Dr. Balbir Singh, State secretary Jagtar Singh Sanghera, Majha Zone president Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal, Doaba zone president Paramjeet Singh Sachdeva, Malwa-1 president Anil Thakur, Malwa-2 president Gurdit Singh Sekhon, Malwa-3 president Dalbir Singh Dhillon and youth wing president Manjinder Singh Sidhu said that the release of toxic industrial wastage is killing the people of state as well as endangering the aquatic life. The people of Majha, Doaba and especially Malwa region are suffering from chronic diseases such as cancer, Hepatitis and kidney damage but the Capt. govt. just as Akalis is shielding the culprits who are responsible for polluting the water and air in the state.

Dr. Balbir Singh said that AAP will fill up the samples from different water sources in state including Ghaggar, Beas, Satluj etc and present these bottles to all the legislators and members of parliament. The exercise will be started on 30th may with presenting it to the chief minister, Capt. Amarinder Singh at Chandigarh. In this regard a delegation led by AAP state secretary Jagtar Singh Sanghera and spokesperson Jastej Singh Arora today met the officials of CM office and seek appointment of Capt. Amarinder Singh on May 30th at 1 PM.

AAP leaders said that people of Punjab are eager to see if the so called ‘Savior of the waters of Punjab’, Capt. Amarinder Singh will drink the same water of Satluj that whole Malwa region is drinking. Dr. Balbir said that the water from holy ‘Chitti Bayi’ will be presented to cabinet minister O.P. Soni while Harike Pattan water to former chief minister Parkash Singh Badal, water of Satluj near Fazilka-Jalalabad to Sukhbir Singh Badal and Ghaggar water near Sardulgarh to centre minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal.
