5 days police remand of Bhai Kulbir Singh; Police charging him for Waging War against the State & holding links with BKI

Goraya/Phillaur/Ludhiana, Punjab (September 21, 2012): According to latest information Goraya Police produced Bhai Kulbir Singh Barapind in Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) Mr. Jatinder Pal Singh's court levelling allegations of serious offences and demanded police remand. CJM has sent Bhai Kulbir Singh on five days police remand.

[t]he explanation by police officials to link the detentions with Bharat Bandh call sounded bizarre as Akali Dal Panch Pardhani had neither given a call for and bandh nor had articulated its views in support of FDI in retail.

Panch Pardhani leaders Bhai Kulbir Singh & Bhai Daljit Singh arrested by Punjab Police

Phillaur/Punjab (September 20, 2012): According to information extended by Akali Dal Panch Pardhani, Bhai Kulbir Singh President of ADPP was arrested by Nawanshehr Police last night. According to information the police conducted a raid at midnight at Bhai Kulbir Singh's house and he was taken into custody. Police is also reported to have raided the house Bhai Daljit Singh, former President of Akali Dal Panch Pardhani last night.

Suicide by an Amritsar Family (2004) Case – Non-bailable warrants against DIG Kultar Singh & DSP Hardep Singh

Amritsar/Punjab (September 18, 2012): Chief Judicial Magistrate of Amritsar is reported have issued arrest warrants against former Amritsar Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kultar Singh, who is currently posted as Deputy Inspector General (DIG), and former Amritsar SHO, who is currently holding the post of DSP, Hardev Singh for their alleged role in the suicide of five members of an Amritsar family in 2004.

India: Execution of death sentence awarded to two murder convicts scheduled for Oct. 1

Patiala/Punjab (September 14, 2012): According to media reports two convict in a murder case is scheduled to be hanged at 9 am on October 5, 2012 in the Central Jail, Patiala as the court of district and sessions judge G. K. Dhir on September 14, 2012 fixed the date and time of the execution of Vikram Singh Walia and Jasvir Singh, who had abducted and killed Abhi (16), a Hoshiarpur boy, for ransom in February 2005.
