Coventry/Ludhiana (October 23, 2012): According to information Coventry Sikhs will the 28th anniversary of Sikh Genocide 1984, which saw thousands of Sikhs were massacred in India. Coventry Telegraph has reported that "[o]n November 3 members of the Sikh community will take part in a procession through the city centre before planting a memorial tree".

Amritsar, Punjab (October 22, 2012): According to information a local court of CJM Mrs Ranjeet Kaur today dropped proceedings and charges against 21 leaders and activists of Dal Khalsa who were booked in June 2005 for raising slogans in favour of 'Khalistan' on the eve of anniversary of army attack on Sri Darbar Sahib, code named as Operation Bluestar by the Indian state and army.
Jalandhar, Punjab (October 22, 2012): According to information the Jalandhar Police today produced Bhai Daljit Singh, former President of Akali Dal Panch Pardhani, in the court of Judicial Magistrate (Jalnadhar) Daisy Bangar on demanded his police remand for 3 days. He is reportedly booked in F.I.R. 216/2012, initially registered against a British national Jaswant Singh Azad under sections 121, 121A, 120B (IPC); section 25 (Arms Act); Sections 10, 13, 17, 18B, 20, 38, 39 and 40 Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA).
New Delhi/Amritsar (October 21, 2012): In wake of upcoming 28th anniversary of the Sikh genocide 1984, many human rights organizations have reportedly come together to press the government to secure punishment for the culprits.
New Delhi, India (October 20, 2102): As the 28 anniversary of the Sikh Genocide 1984 is heading close, a petition signed by several eminent citizens is reportedly being sent to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh demanding that all cases closed by the police be reinvestigated and all culprits brought to book. They are also demanding a strong law to deal with communal and sectarian violence.
Tarn Taran/Punjab (October 20, 2012): According to media reports Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal has warned that the move to amend the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Act, 1971, could “disturb hard-earned peace” of the state and asked the Congress leadership “to refrain from playing with fire”.
"Rashtriya Swayam Sewak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat specially came to Punjab to have a meeting with Baba Gurinder Singh Dhillon, the head of Radha Soami sect at the sect headquarters located at Beas. Though nobody came forward to confirm the same but probably it was the first meeting of any RSS Chief with any of the heads of Dera Radha Soami.

Along with that is a Heritage Gala which is being held November 3, 2012 “to celebrate the rich heritage, culture and traditions of the Sikhs.”
Milwaukee, Wisconsin (October 18, 2012): Bhai Punjab Singh, a learned Sikh preacher who was critically wounded during the shootings at Wisconsin’s Oak Creek Gurdwara Sahib in August has been discharged from the Froedtert Hospital. The attack had claimed lives of seven people and left four in critical condition.
New Dwlhi/India (October 18, 2012): According to media reports a Delhi court has issued a proclamation against five Sikhs in a 1981 plain hijack case asking them to appear before it on December 3. It is notable that five include two persons, Satnam Singh and Tejinderpal Singh, who returned to India in 2000 after serving a life term in Pakistan for hijacking an Air India plane to that country in 1981, while other three reportedly do not reside in India now.
According to media reports the Punjab and Haryana High Court on Tuesday (October 16, 2012) dismissed the Public Interest Litigation filed by the NGO, 'Voice For Freedom', stating that it does not have locus standi to file petition against appointment of Sumedh singh Saini as Punjab DGP.
