Jalandhar, Punjab (August 25, 2013): As per inforamtion available with the Sikh Siaysat News (SSN) the Dal Khalsa's youth wing 'Sikh Youth of Punjab' (SYP) held a road show on August 25, 2013 to express their anguish and concern over the rise of drug menace, apostasy, criminalization of politics and sexual violence against women.

Bhai Gurbax Singh Hijacker passed away; He had conducted long campaign for release of Prof. Bhullar

Bathinda, Punjab (August 25, 2013): It is learnt that Bhai Gurbax Singh Hijacker passed away at Adesh Hospital near Bathinda, Punjab. He was a resident of Village Pakka Kalan and had hijacked an Air India flight going to Amritsar from New Delhi in 1989. He had Hijacked the plane without any arms/ammunition or explosives.

SGPC to raise Sikh genocide 1984 memorial at the site of Hondh-Chillar Massacre, Makkar assures survivors

Amritsar, Punjab (August 25, 2013): As per some media reports the Shiromani Gurdwara Prabhandak Committee (SGPC) has decided to raise a memorial for the victims of the Hondh-Chillar Massacre at the Sikh genocide site at village Hondh Chillar, near Rewari in Haryana.

Amritsar, Punjab (August 25, 2013): As per certain media reports teh Indian Institute of Techonology (IIT) has suggested redesigning of the kitchen at Guru Ram Das Langar at Darbar Sahib, Amirtsar so as to aviod the pollution. As per inforamtion the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) has already started working in this direction as per advice of the institute.

Delhi Committee file criminal complaint against controversial preacher Asa Ram’s disciple for hurting Sikh sentiments

New Delhi/ Amritsar, India/ Punjab (August 24, 2013): It is learnt that a disciple of controversial Hindu preacher named 'Bapu' Asa Ram, who is facing allegations of rape and sexual exploitations, went on to compare Asa Ram with the first Sikh Guru, Guru Nanak Dev Ji. As per media reports Neelam Dube, a disciple of controversial preacher Asa Ram, compared him with Guru Nanak Dev Ji in her attempt to defend Asa Ram during a prime time debate at “India News” Tv channel.

Ontario, Canada (August 23, 2013): It is learnt that Sikh diaspora organizations of Canada like the Canadian Sikh Coalition (CSC) and Sikhs for Justice (SFJ) are planning to chase and target Punjab cops for their role in torture of Canadian citizens in Punjab. As per information CSC and SFJ are planning to prepare a case, which will be presented to the Canadian government, declaring Punjab police force as violator of human rights so as to deny its officers visas to that country.

Fearing litigation Punjab Dy. CM Sukhbir Badal cancels visit to Canada

204 Years old rare Amritsar Treaty purchased by anonymous bidder for £3,400

As per information a 204 years old copy of the 'Treaty of Amritsar' was sold on August 21, 2013 for over four times its estimate at an auction of rare historical documents.
