Arniwala, Fazilka: Seven Punjab Police officials, including an SI and incharge of the Fazilka narcotics cell, have been reportedly suspended for facilitating drug smugglers.
The suspended officials are Sub-Inspector Punjab Singh, incharge of the Fazilka narcotic cell head constable Harjinder Singh, head constable Pargat Singh posted at Arniwala police station, head constable Ravi Kumar posted as “munshi” with the CIA staff, Fazilka, Harpal Singh, CIA staff, constable Balwinder Singh and home guard Surjeet Singh.
The names of these officials had figured in a video clip that went viral few days back in which one Babloo had exposed the role of Punjab cops in facilitating drugs.

A row was triggered in Arniwala sub-tehsil when a reforming drug addict exposed the alleged nexus between the police and drug smugglers in the video that went viral two days ago.
Fazilka SP(Detective) Mukhtiar Singh initiated an inquiry into the matter.
Some residents took out a procession in Mandi Arniwala on July 5 against drug in which Babbloo alleged that some police officials were hand in glove with smugglers.
He also exposed the police officials, who allegedly allowed the drug smugglers to carry on the trade.
Babbloo was questioned by the police on Saturday. A police official reportedly said credentials, past history and the role of Babbloo in smuggling of drugs were being verified as part of the probe.
SP (D) Mukhtiar Singh said an inquiry was being conducted into the allegations and the police officials named in the matter had been suspended till the completion of the probe.
