Catch the “bull by its horns”: SYP on Aam Aadmi Party (AAP)’s list of corrupt politicians

Jalandhar, Punjab (February 04, 2014): Commenting on Aam Aadmi Party’s list of corrupt politicians, the Sikh Youth of Punjab (SYP) said more than individuals, its existing political system that’s corrupt and the need of the hour is to catch the “bull by its horns”.
SYP’s vice-president Paramjit Singh and general secretary Manjit Singh said without exception, all career politicians are corrupt. They admitted that people have lost trust in career politicians and out of this mistrust AAP has succeeded in establishing itself so quickly.

“Need of the hour is to overhaul the corrupt system as corruption has taken its roots in every pillar of the democracy”.
“Criminalization of politics and dynastic politics has further downgraded the profession”, they said. “People who resort to loot are entering politics just to amass wealth, they said.
Talking particularly about Punjab, they said the leadership of political parties was being run like dynasties, where the baton was being given from father to son.
They said both the Congress and SAD had passed on the leadership of their parties from one family member to another and that this democracy can be best described as a sham.
They blamed both Akali Dal and Congress for criminalisation and commercialization of politics.
