February 26, 2014 | By

New Delhi (February 27, 2014): All India Sikh Students Federation (AISSF) has announced their delegation will meet Prime Minister Dr.Manmohan Singh in Delhi on February 27 and handover memorandum, to highlight the recent practice of Politics that has overshadowed the “Issue of Justice” for the victims of November 1984 Sikh Genocide.

The startling disclosure by Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi that leaders of his party were involved in massacre of Sikhs in 1984, started a political storm in which SAD (Badal), BJP are trying to woo the Sikh vote bank.

AISSF President Karnail Singh Peermohammad, stated that “Justice for the 1984 victims does not mean “Votes” for political leaders who use this issue during elections but ‘Convictions” of those responsible for Genocide.

AISSF President stated that with eyes on the coming parliamentary elections, November 1984 genocide of Sikhs and denial of justice to the victims is again being used by political leaders to gain Sikh votes. We will not allow these political leaders of SAD (Badal), BJP, for using the 1984 issue to further their political interests, added Peermohammad.

Questioning SAD (Badal), BJP’s political motive behind the recent uproar over 1984 issue, AISSF President stated “Since 2007, we have been fighting a legal battle against all those Congress leaders who lead death squads in 1984, why they never participated in the justice campaign and what prompted them now to raise this issue?

AISSF President stated that they have identified 18 states and more than 110 cities where Sikhs were systematically massacred during November 1984 and of those Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, is still under BJP control, an ally of SAD (Badal), What they have done so far to seek justice for 1984 victims and did they make SIT in those states?

The Sikh human rights groups have developed consensus that the recent discoveries of mass killings of Sikhs in more than 110 cities throughout India proves that November 1984 is Genocide as defined in Article 2 of the UN Convention on Genocide. The gravity, scale, organized and intentional nature of these genocidal attacks was concealed by the Indian governments by portraying them as “Anti-Sikh Riots of Delhi”. The recently discovered evidence shows that more than 37000 claims for deaths and injuries were filed by the victims of November 1984, out of which more than 20,000 claims were by victims who were attacked outside Delhi.
