Canada: Statement from NDP’s GTA Caucus chair Andrew Cash on Brampton Courthouse shooting

Ottawa, Canada (March 29, 2014): NDP Multiculturalism critic and GTA Caucus Chair Andrew Cash (Davenport) has issued the following statement (on March 28) regarding the shooting at the Brampton Courthouse:

“New Democrats are in shock today at the tragic courthouse shooting in Brampton, Ontario.

We commend the swift actions of the Peel Regional Police and especially Const. Mike Klarenbeek who sustained injuries during an altercation with the shooter.

We wish Const. Mike Klarenbeek a speedy recovery, his brave actions helped keep a very dangerous situation from becoming an even greater tragedy.

New Democrats join Canadians in expressing our heartfelt condolences to all those affected.
