USA (August 07, 2010): As per information provided by Sikhs for Justice, the U.S. District Court of New York issued a certificate of default declaring that Kamal Nath, an Indian Member of Parliament and Minister for Roadways, has failed to respond to the summons issued by the court on April 06, 2010.

Despite publically acknowledging to have received the summons, Kamal Nath decided not to contest the allegation of leading the mobs that killed Sikhs on November 01, 1984.  The default certificate paves the way for a U.S. Court to grant all reliefs requested by the plaintiff Sikhs for Justice, a U.S.-based non-profit national human rights advocacy group.
