Delhi HC directs medical treatment of Bhai Jagtar Singh Hawara at AIIMS

New Delhi, India (July 11, 2014): It is learnt that the Delhi High Court today issued a direction to the Tihar Jail authorities regarding medical treatment of Bhai Jagtar Singh Hawara, who has been serving life imprisonment in Punjab CM Beant Singh’s assassination case.

Bhai Jagtar Singh Hawara has been suffering from some spine ailment resulting in acute back pain but the jail authorities were not providing him proper medical treatment.

According to S. Baldev Singh, chief of Akhand Kirtani Jatha (International) the Delhi High Court has issued a direction for providing immediate medical treatment to Jagtar Singh Hawara at All India Institute of Medical Science (AIIMS).

Bhai Baldev Singh demanded investigations into the role of jail administration for denying proper and timely medical treatment to Jagtar Singh Hawara.
