Reinstating controversial CA Kohli: SGPC inching towards its doom: Dal Khalsa

Amritsar, Punjab (July 17, 2014): Dal Khalsa has asserted that by reinstating the controversial Chartered Accountant S S Kohli within 24 hours of his sacking by the SGPC, the Deputy CM Sukhbir Singh Badal has proved that ‘he is above the SGPC’.

Dal Khalsa spokesperson Kanwar Pal Singh said with this single act, Sukhbir has proved that for him the premier institution of the Sikhs (SGPC) is a non-entity. ‘If SGPC head Jathedar Avtar Singh Makhar has even an iota of self dignity, he should submit his resignation forthwith’, he added.

Notably, the decision to terminate the services of Kohli was taken in the Executive meeting of the SGPC and was conveyed to him last evening. Kohli is high profile employee of the SGPC drawing salary app. one crore per year.

Within 24 hours, Sukhbir assured his comeback thus putting question mark on the existence, credibility and authority of the SGPC executive, said Kanwar Pal. According to Dal Khalsa, the developments of recent past indicate that the SGPC was inching towards its doom.

We are deeply shocked to note that SGPC executive members were so helpless that they can’t function or take decision independently.
He said it’s the exploitation of the SGPC by the Badal family for commercial and political gains that has damaged the premier institutions of the Sikhs more than the creation of the HSGPC.

Referring to the news that Parkash Singh Badal broke down in the party’s core committee meeting to express that he was deeply disturbed over the developments in Haryana, Dal Khalsa activist asked him to explain whether blatant misuse of the seat and seal of the Jathedar Akal Takhat and the SGPC by him and his family has ever pricked his conscience.
