Amritsar (October 16, 2010): The Khalsa Action Committee and Dal Khalsa took strong note of the shoot out incident occurred at Amritsar Central jail premises in which an unknown miscreant shot and injured Navtej Singh an alleged assassin of infamous nihang and police cat Ajit Singh Phoolha.KAC chairman Bhai Mohkam Singh and Dal Khalsa spokesperson Kanwar Pal Singh today visited the Guru Nanak hospital to inquire about the condition of Navtej Singh, who received bullet injury on his left shoulder.

Demanding a high level inquiry either by Session Judge or Deputy Commissioner of Amritsar to ascertain the facts, they also talked with Jail Minister Hira Singh Gabria on phone and apprise him of the situation.

“Although his condition is out of danger and he is in high spirits (charhdi kala) but the matter is serious and as the weapon has been smuggled in the jail to harm him”. There’s some conspiracy behind the incident, they said.

The doctor attending him confirmed about the bullet mark, they claimed and added that Navtej Singh himself told them that in the evening at 6 PM as he came out of barrack after doing weight lifting exercise, someone with face covered fired a bullet on him.

All India Sikh Students Federation (Bhoma) president Manjit Singh Bhoma condemned the deadly incident. He blamed the jail authorities for covering up the entire incident.
