Jagtar Singh Tara’s Police remand ends in Ropar case, Bhogpur police gets custody for questioning

Ropar/ Jalandhar: Bhai Jagtar Singh Tara, who was extradited by Thailand earlier this month, was yesterday (on January 26) remanded to judicial custody till February 9 by a Ropar court but he was handed over to Bhogpur police on an arrest warrant for questioning in another case registered against him in Jalandhar.

Duty Magistrate Anup Singh sent the militant to judicial custody till February 9 in an attempt to murder case registered against him in 1991.

Jagtar Singh Tara was booked for allegedly firing at a police team near rail road here on March 26, 1991.

He was then arrested and released on bail thereafter. After that he jumped the bail and declared proclaimed offender (PO) in this case.
