For Bikram Majithia’s Clean chit Badal Dal supported Land Acquisition bill: HS Phoolka

Ludhiana, Punjab: Aam Aadmi Party leader and senior Supreme Court lawyer H.S. Phoolka recently condemned the passing of Land Acquisition Bill in Lok Sabha and asked people to exert pressure on the Government not to get it passed in Rajya Sabha.

He expressed shock that the Badal Dal MPs Supported the Land Acquisition bill in the Lok Sabha which is a draconian law against the Farmers.

H.S. Phoolka said that it was surprising that the ‘Akalis’, who vehemently were opposing the bill in the past and who always claim to vouch for the interest of the farmers, were now supporting it.

Referring to one such report published in The Tribune dated 3rd of March in which resolution was passed by Shiromani Akali Dal to oppose the bill in Lok Sabha. But, surprisingly Akalis took U-turn in the Parliament and supported it. The media was also surprised as how could Modi manage to get the support of the Akalis in the Lok Sabha to get the bill passed. It seems that the Akalis bargained to secure Majithia’s interest over the interest of Farmers.

He urge the people to exert pressure on the Akalis and force them not to vote in favour of the Land Acquisition Act in the Rajya Sabha.
