New Delhi, India: The Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP) National Council (NC) meeting witnessed violence after Manish Sisodhia moved a resolution to oust Yogendra Yadav, Prashant Bhushan, Ajit Jha and Anand Kumar from Aam Aadmi Party’s National Council for alleged anti-party activities.
Earlier party convenor Arvind Kejriwal addressed the NC meeting for about 33 minutes and left the meeting saying that NC should decide if he or Yogendra Yadav, Prashant Bhushan, Ajit Jha and Anand Kumar should stay in party’s NC. He alleged that these persons were involved in anti-party activities during last state assembly elections. He left the meeting saying that Gopal Rai would chair the meeting.
After Arvind Kejriwal left the meeting Gopal Rai asked participants to give their names if they wish to speak in the meeting. Meanwhile, Manish Sisodhia moved a resolution to oust Yogendra Yadav, Prashant Bhushan, Ajit Jha and Anand Kumar from Aam Aadmi Party’s National Council for alleged anti-party activities.
When certain members demanded that the other side should be given time to speak in the meeting, their voice was reportedly snubbed with violence.
Aam Aadmi Party has ousted Yogendra Yadav, Prashant Bhushan, Ajit Jha and Anand Kumar.
Addressing media Anand Kumar said that he will remain in the party as an ordinary volunteer.
Commenting on violence in NC meeting Prashant Bhushan alleged that “It was all pre-planned”.
Everything happened as per pre-planned script, Gopal Rai has been made chairman without voting, said Yogendra Yadav.
He said that violence took place at the meet. One of our colleagues was kicked and dragged out of the meet by bouncers.
I say it with sadness that democracy has been murdered at the AAP National Council meet today, Yadav added.
As per information one member Ramjan Chaudhary was injured due to beating.
Party MLAs reportedly raised slogans against Yogendra Yadav and others, even during the meeting.
AAP NC has reportedly sent the case of Yogendra Yadav, Prashant Bhushan, Ajit Jha and Anand Kumar to disciplinary committee.
