Sangrur, Punjab: Ruling regime Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal)-Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) candidate Gobind Singh Longowal won Dhuri bypoll with 37501 votes. He bagged 67,596 votes.
Simar Partap Singh Barnala who contested election on Congress symbol bagged 30095 votes and lasted as first runner-up.
Shiromani Akali Dal Amritsar (Mann) candidate Surjit Singh Kalaboola lasted at third place with 7,554 votes.
