Chandigarh: The Punjab and Haryana high court today adjourned hearing on a petition by Sikh pracharak Bhai Ranjit Singh Dhadrianwale seeking Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) investigation into May 17 attack on his conclave near Ludhiana. BhaiBhupinder Singh Dhakkiwale, a Sikh pracharak and a companion of Bhai Ranjit Singh was killed in this attack. The police have arrested some persons belonging to Mehta faction of Dadami Taksal in this case.
Bhai Ranjit Singh Dhadrianwale is seeking CBI probe in this case. The matter would be taken up on October 18. On the last date of hearing on August 17, the CBI had told high court that no inter-state ramifications were involved into the FIR registered for attack on Dhadrianwale. Hence, Punjab Police be allowed to continue with the probe. The state government is yet to respond to the contention of Bhai Ranjit Singh.
