Chandigarh: After the Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan last month (2nd March) was intimidated by pro hindutva Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) leader from Ujjain Kundan Chandravat, following his line the BJP Youth Wing leader Yogesh Varshney today while threatening West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee said ” “Those who will cut and bring Mamata Banerjee’s head, I will give that person Rs 11 lakh.” Upset he further stated that Mamata Banerjee never allows Saraswati Puja, fairs during Ram Navami and during Hanuman Jayanti procession, people were lathi charged and brutally beaten up. She organizes Iftar party and always supports Muslims.”
The statement came day after West Bengal’s government denied permission for taking out a religious procession to celebrate Hanuman Jayanti in Birbhum district, following which the police had to restore to cane charge to control the crowd, notes Indian Express (IE).
It was reported by the media that the police in Birbhum had not given permission for any procession or rally in Suri area on Tuesday but the people went forward with their program raising slogans of ‘Jai Sri Ram’ and carrying saffron flags.
