New Delhi: A Sikh man named Iqbal Singh was admitted to AIIMS Trauma Centre on Friday (July 6) with multiple fractures and pellet injuries suffered in Jalalabad (Afghanistan) blast. Dr Amit Lathwal, the hospital’s Medical Superintendent, said: “the patient underwent a battery of tests and was given conservative treatment. He has fractures in his hands and skull besides pellet injuries in many parts. He is stable.”
A multidisciplinary team, comprising doctors from orthopaedic, ENT and neurosurgery departments is looking after him, he added.
Iqbal was injured in a suicide bombing by ISIS that claimed at least 19 lives, including Sikh and Hindus, in Afghanistan’s Jalalabad region on July 1.
