Amritsar: Countering the claims of Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal) president Sukhbir Singh Badal that his party represents the Panth, the Dal Khalsa said the Akali Dal represents only a section of voters of Punjab and certainly not the Panth. The days of SAD being synonymous with Panth are long over.
Party spokesperson Kanwar Pal Singh said Panth is embodiment of the collective and considered will of the community.
“Panth is settled across the globe where as SAD is representative body of section of Sikh voters of Punjab”. He said SAD under Badals deserted (bedava) the Panth long time back. He asserted the present avtar of SAD is second fiddle of Hindutva forces.
Chiding Sukhbir for calling the organizers of the Bargarhi morcha as agents of ISI, he said the massive gathering of pro-Panhtic and pro-Punjab people at Bargarhi yesterday itself is a rap on his face. He said, “Earlier in 80’s Delhi rulers used to portray Sikhs as ISI agents, now Sukhbir has taken over the role of Delhi to demean the Sikhs”.
He warned SAD and Congress to read writings on the wall going by mammoth gathering of sangat at Bargarhi. “People of Punjab will not rest till culprits of sacrilege and killer cops are punished by so-called long arm of the law”, said he.
He slammed the Amrinder Singh Government for sleeping over the pressing demands of the Bargarhi morcha.
Calling the Senior Badal a biggest liar, he asked him to explain how come he visited Darbar Sahib after two days of the attack while the entire area was under curfew and strict control of the army.
Dal Khalsa leader quoted Badal saying at Patiala rally that he visited Dabar Sahib after two days of attack and saw its reservoir turned into a pool of blood.
He said it is mystery as where was Badal when the attack was launched on June 3 till his arrest on June 12 at Chandigarh. “Let Badal to explain where he was hiding during the attack and how come he visited Darbar Sahib which was under army occupation and strict curfew and who facilitated his visit”.
