New Delhi, India (January 30, 2013): According to a YesPunjab.Com news Shiromani Akali Dal (Delhi) president and former Chief of Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DAGMC) Paramjit Singh Sarna has accepted his party’s and his personal defeat in DSGMC Polls.
“I bow before the decision of Sikh Sangat and accept the outcome of Elections”, Sarna reportedly said adding that he had no regrets.
“Sarna, who after sensing the outcome, was going back from the counting center while talking to the media persons standing outside” reports YesPunjab.com, a news portal by Senior Journalist H.S. Bawa.
“A visually disappointed Sarna said though he congratulates SAD president Sukhbir Singh Badal for his win in DSGMC polls he was afraid that the ‘Sikhi’ might be in danger in Delhi now”, news report reads further.
Sarna reportedly said, he would pray to the Almighty to grant wisdom to Badals so that they maintain the principles of Sikhism and the sanctity of the Gurdwaras in Delhi.
Sarna’s rival Badal Dal candidate Manjinder Singh Sirsa was leading by more than 1550 votes when the reports last came in.
