Medical Examination ordered – Prof. Bhullar may be hanged in secrecy

New Delhi, India (April 15, 2013): It is learnt that the Indian state has ordered special medical examination of Sikh political prisoner, Professor Davinderpal Singh Bhullar – who is under imminent threat of execution. Prof. Bhullar had been on death row for more than a decade. He has already spent eighteen years in prison.

Due to prolonged detention Prof. Bhullar’s health had deteriorated and he was undergoing treatment at Institute of Human Behaviour Allied Science (IHBAS).
It is learnt that a board of doctors has been asked to medically examine Prof. Bhullar and submit a report regarding his physical and mental health condition.
There are reports in media that Prof. Bhullar may be hanged by Indian state in secrecy.
“While Tihar Jail authorities wait for Devender Singh Pal Bhullar to be shifted back to prison from the Institute of Human Behaviour Allied Science (IHBAS), intelligence assessments have started trickling in, warning of an adverse fallout in Punjab of his impending execution. Intelligence circles are already debating whether his hanging should be carried out in secrecy, as was done in the case of Ajmal Kasab and Afzal Guru”.
