Vancouver, Canada (November 21, 2013): A Canada based Sikh leader Bhai Ranjeet Singh Khalsa has written an Open Letter to Amitabh Bachchan, India’s Bollywood icon and the anchor of famous TV show “Kaun Banega Karorpati?” (Who will be the millionaire?), accusing him of being involved in the Sikh genocide 1984.
The leader of the Abbotsford based Baba Banda Singh Bahadur Society, Ranjit Singh Khalsa’s letter has prominently appeared in Chardikala, a weekly paper published from Canada. Ranjit Singh Khalsa has accused Amitabh Bachchan for the killings of innocent Sikhs by the goons of the ruling Congress party during first week of November 1984, after the assassination of then Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi on October 31, 2013. “Your hands are smeared with blood,” he writes.
It is notable that Amitabh Bachchan was close to Rajeev Gandhi, the son of the slain leader who succeeded her as the Indian Prime Minister. Amitabh Bachchan was seen standing next to Rajeev Gandhi when Indira Gandhi’s corpse lay in the state. Her supporters were heard screaming, “We will avenge blood with blood” on the TV. Amitabh Bachchan was elected Congress MP in 1985.
