Mohali, Punjab: Blowing the horn for 2017 state assembly elections, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), organised its special mass contact programme under the banner of ‘Haal Punjab Da, Dard Punjab Da’, at Mohali on Feb. 28.

The state leadership of Aam Aadmi Party held a roadshow from Mohali to Kharar and opened the party’s state office in Sector 71.

State party convener Sucha Singh Chhotepur said the residents of Punjab were fed up with the faulty policies of successive Akali and Congress governments.

“The state has been undergoing a difficult phase,” said Sucha Singh Chhotepur, while officially launching the state-wise programme to reach out to every resident.

When asked whether the party had begun its preparation for assembly election in 2017, Sucha Singh Chhotepur said, “Our mission is to rope in every resident of the state in our programme.”

On Congress leader Sukhpal Khaira joining the party, Sucha Singh Chhotepur said he had a word with Sukhpal Khaira on the issue. “I have told him that he has to join the party without laying down any terms. Our gates are open for every person, who supports the party’s agenda and the interests of the aam aadmi,” said Sucha Singh Chhotepur.

Earlier, the first roadshow of the programme drew an encouraging response as a large number of supporters participated in the event.
