Aam Aadmi Party appoints Gurpreet Singh Ghuggi as Punjab Convener

Chandigarh: Aam Aadmi Party today appointed renowned political satirist and Actor Gurpreet Singh Ghuggi as new Punjab Convener.

The political affair committee (PAC) of AAP yesterday cleared Gurpreet Singh Ghuggi’s name for the post of Punjab state unit convener. He will take over the post soon.

Gurpreet Ghuggi will replace Sucha Singh Chhotepur, who was removed from the post by AAP’s PAC few days back.

Gurpreet Ghuggi’s celebrity status and Sikh face are believed to have been the considerations for the AAP to appoint him as Punjab unit’s convenor. AAP’s Punjab unit have suffered considerable damage by ousting Chhotepur and failing to lock deals with some prominent politicians who were willing to join AAP.
