June 10, 2014 | By

New Delhi (June 10, 2014): Political parties are trying to gain political mileage out of the power crisis in the India’s capital city and where as the political blame-game seems to have reached at a peak point.

The Aam Aadmi Party supporters led by 20 MLAs including Manish Sisodia stage a protest outside the house of Union Health Minister and Delhi unit president of Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) Harash Vardhan and handed over a memorandum to resume power in various areas of the national capital where people are reeling under power cuts and scorching heat.

Holding the BJP responsible for the power crisis, AAP convener Arvind Kejriwal tweeted, “BJP neither able to handle power crisis nor forming government nor allowing elections in Delhi. Completely irresponsible”.

On the other hand, congress leader Arvinder Singh Lovely held AAP responsible for the current situation alleging that the AAP resigned from the government and failed to take responsibility. If there would be functioning government in the capital, the electricity would be in better situation, he said.

Coming down heavily on the former Sheila Dikshit regime, the BJP leader and Minister of State for Power (Independent Charge) Piyush Goyal said its inability to take concrete decisions is the crux of the ongoing problem.

Goyal blamed policy and execution paralysis of the previous government for the problems being faced by the Delhi power sector.

Further taking on the Congress and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), the BJP leader said that it is unfortunate that some political parties are politicising the power supply issue.
