Chandigarh: Punjab and Haryana High Court recently denied to barricade the CBI probe against Dera Sauda Sirsa chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim in a case related to mass castration of dera followers.
The Division Bench comprising Justice Surya Kant and Justice P.B Bajunthry held hearing on the petitions against the CBI investigation. The Court rejected to barricade the CBI investigation fixing next hearing on July 8. The bench has also ordered CBI to present its status report of six months probe.
It is notable that a former follower of Sirsa Cult Hans Raj Chauhan had moved to the High Court that he was made impotent by Sirsa dera head along with more than 400 other followers.
Accepting the petition, the court ordered medical checkup of Hans Raj Chauhan in which he was found impotent. The court also ordered CBI probe in this matter. Hans Raj has stated before the probe agency that a panel of doctors in the cult cut off his testicles against his wish.
