Fatehgarh Sahib (May 14, 2010): As per a HT report, the Deputy Commissioner of Fatehgarh Sahib, Yashvir Mahajan had asked the police to take action against display of potraits of Martyrs of Third Sikh Holocause & Sikh Militant Movement. Full report reads as follows:
The Shiromani Akali Dal (Panch Pardhani) has put the portraits of late Sikh militants of the 1980s, includ- ing Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale, on display outside the offices of the DC and SSP here. Deputy Commissioner Yashvir Mahajan said he had asked the police to take action.
“The poetry of Sant Ram Udasi and Prof Harinder Singh Mehboob is on the portraits of people who achieved martyr- dom defending Darbar Sahib from the Army during Operation Bluestar,“ said Bhai Harpal Singh Cheema, secretary of the SAD (Panch Pardhani). “Besides conquer- ing Sirhind, Baba Banda Singh Bahadur established the first Sikh empire, and in the 20th century, warriors led by Sant Bhindranwale created another” Cheema added. The Dal Khalsa and other Sikh groups organised Khalsa Raj March on Wednesday.
