Dera Sauda Sirsa head Gurmeet Ram Rahim to rely on 98 defence witnesses in rape case

Haryana (February 24, 2014): As per information controversial self-styled godman and Dera Sauda Sirsa chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim has submitted a list of 98 defence witnesses in rape case against him before the CBI special court, Haryana. The list was submitted on last date of hearing of the case on February 22.

“We have submitted a list of defence witnesses. We have also examined Balwinder Singh. He told the court that his two daughters had studied in a dera school in Sirsa and the two women, who had levelled allegations of rape, were teachers there and used to remain quite happy and content,” SK Garg Narwana, counsel for Ram Rahim reportedly said.

“We shall be filing a reply on examination of defence witnesses,” said CBI counsel HPS Verma.

It may be recalled that on February 11, Ram Rahim got recorded his statement under Section 313, CrPC.

According to certain medi a reports Gurmeet Ram Rahim had refuted the allegations of rape and claimed that since 1990, he was not medically or physically fit to have sex.

Controversial godman is facing rape and murder charges.
