Amritsar, Punjab (September 24, 2013): In a statement sent to the Sikh Siyasat News, the Dal Khalsa has expressed its anguish over the assault on Sikh professor Dr Prabhjot Singh at the Columbia University, terming the incident as alarming and continuation of hate crime against Sikhs since 9/11.
Kanwar Pal Singh, party spokesperson rued that American government has failed to stop such incidents of hate crime despite its resolve. Sikhs needs action and not mere assurances from the Obama administration, he pointed out. He admitted that Sikhs were passing through a critical phase and there seems no end to identity crisis.
Calling for strict action against the hate mongers, he urged the Sikh Diaspora to speak out forcefully against bias-motivated crimes. He asked Sikh Americans to remain vigil.
