Talwandi Sabo, Bathinda (August 17, 2014): India’s Food Processing Industries Minister Harsimrat Badal today tried to lure Talwandi Sabo voters with Centre’s promised concessions for Punajb. She said BJP led NDA government at the Centre had promised to give adequate compensation to the Punjab farmers affected by deficient monsoon.
Talking to reporters after a public rally at Talwandi Sabo, Harsimrat Badal said the Prime Minister of India and Indian Agriculture Minister had assured her and the Punjab Chief Minister that compensation would be given after assessing the actual loss to farmers after the paddy season was over.
“They have assured us to compensate farmers adequately for the deficit rainfall received in various parts of Punjab as the state’s farmers were making strenuous efforts and spending extra money on diesel and other inputs to sustain their Kharif crops,” she reportedly said.
While canvassing for SAD-BJP candidate for Talwandi Sabo by-election Jeet Mohinder Sidhu, she said: “The SAD-BJP government in the state would ensure all-round development and prosperity with full help from the Union government”, she said.
Appealing to the electorate to vote for the SAD-BJP alliance for a better future, Harsimrat Badal promised to create abundant employment opportunities for the youth.
