The newly constituted separate Gurdwara Committee plans to soon write to the Indian Home Ministry, urging it to earmark a separate quota for Sikh pilgrims.

This was indicated by HSGPC general secretary Joga Singh, while talking to reporters.

It is pertinent to mention here that Amritsar based Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) and Delhi based Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) already have separate quotas.

Thousands of Sikhs visit Sikh Gurdwaras in Pakistan on different religiously important occasions to pay obeisance. Their visit is organised and regulated by the SGPC and the DSGMC even as the Visas are granted by the Pakistan Embassy in Delhi.
