New Delhi, India: In a defamation case field by senior advocate and Aam Aadmi Party leader H.S. Phoolka, Congress party leader Jagdish Tytler offered unconditional apology. The offer was however turned down by Phoolka who said that any compromise in this case might sent a wrongful message to the public. Hearing in this case was held in a Delhi court on Sept. 27.
In his case Advocate HS Phoolka said that during a TV debate on 7 September 2004, Jagdish Tytler passed some baseless allegations against him.
Jagdish Tytler in his plea said that there was no public interest involved in a defamation case field by a private persons, therefore the matter should be settled with unconditional apology.
Advocate Phoola, who was involved in pursuing cases of victims of November 1984 Sikh genocide in Indian courts said that he any compromise in this case could send wrong signals to the public.
The court has fixed October 15 as next date of hearing in this matter.
