Khadoor Sahib: Amritpal Singh, president of Waris Punjab De—a party formed by the late actor-turned-political activist Deep Sidhu—secured victory in the Lok Sabha election from the Khadoor Sahib constituency. He garnered 404,430 votes, which amounted to 38.62% vote share. He had contested as an independent candidate.
Indian National Congress candidate Kulbir Singh Zira came in second with 207,310 votes. Amritpal Singh’s victory margin stands at 197,120 votes.
Laljit Singh Bhullar, a cabinet minister from the Aam Aadmi Party, secured third place with 194,836 votes.
Virsa Singh Valtoha of the SAD (Badal) party finished fourth with 86,416 votes.

In Khadoor Sahib constituency independent candidate and president of Waris Punjab De party is leading with a considerable margin. Amritpal Singh is jailed in Dibrugarh jail of Assam under the National Security Act.
As per the latest data released by the Election Commission of India at 10:05 am, Amritpal Singh has secured a commanding lead with 34396 votes, accumulating a total of 77956 votes. Trailing behind is Congress party’s Kulbir Singh Zira, with 43560 votes to his credit.
The trend of Khadoor Sahib constituency shows that Amritpal Singh is heading towards a comfortable victory from this seat.
Notably, Amritpal Singh after assuming the office of president of Waris Punjab De, a group formed by late actor-turned political activist Deep Sidhu, in 2022 had declared that he won’t contest any elections as he did not himself believe in Indian electoral system. But after the Lok Sabha elections were announced in India, he decided to join the race for seat in Indian parliament.
