Jalandhar, Punjab (October 12, 2013): It is learnt that the “Khalsa productions” has released its second inspirational short film ‘Kaur’ to spread awareness about the principles of Sikhism. The film exhorts Sikh youth to shun ‘Patitpuna’.
The production house headed by SAD leader Parminder Pal Singh Khalsa had earlier produced a short film ‘Fateh’.
According to news reported by the YesPunjab.Com on October 05, while [a]ddressing a press conference [at Jalandhar Press club] at the launch of ‘Kaur’ Parminder Pal Singh Khalsa said that the response to ‘Fateh’ encouraged them to continue the production of films.
“The present film is about the ‘patitpuna’ prevalent among Sikh women. Under the influence of Western culture some Sikh women sport shorn hair and violate the Sikh maryada”, he said.
Parminder Pal Singh Khalsa thanked Rajinder Singh Purewal Chairman of Sikh Sewak Society International (UK), Harjit Singh Editor Sikh Phulwari, Raja Singh Missionary (The Sikh House – America), Surinder Pal Singh Goldy senior vice-president Sikh Sewak Society, Prof. Balwinder Pal Singh General Secretary Sikh Sewak Society and the management and staff of Guru Amar Dass Public School, Jalandhar.
Parminder Pal Singh Khalsa said that Gurtej Singh Thukral, the director of the film has once again done a commendable job. He said the artistes who have acted in the film include Bibi Harpreet Kaur wife of Harjit Singh Missionaryt, Suman Sharma and Khyati.
He said that the film has been co-produced by Swaranjit Singh Khalsa (USA) and Manpreet Singh Khalsa (UK) who are contributing immensely to promote the film on social network.
