Srinagar: The army court of inquiry (CoI) that was formed to probe an incident that took place earlier last month (April 9th 2017) in which a Kashmiri youth named Farooq Dhar was tied with the fender of the moving Jeep in Jammu and Kashmir’s Budgam region and used as Human shield has not only been given clean chit, but the army officer was further praised by the army top brass for this inhumane act which as per CoI was done to ‘avoid’ stone pelting.
The Army had ordered a probe by the Army Court of Inquiry (COI) after police registered an FIR for the incident when an Army Major tied a youth to the bonnet of a jeep as a human shield, notes Economic Times (ET).
While quoting the sources within the army the media reports stated that Major Nitin Gogol has been praised by the Court of Inquiry for “presence of mind to avoid casualties or injuries”.
