MPs’ distance from Anadpur Sahib conference sparks talks about cracks in Punjab unit of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP)

March 7, 2015 | By

Chandigarh: After Aam Aadmi Party’s high voltage ‘Delhi drama’, it seems as if Punjab unit of AAP is heading on same lines. There is discussion in media circles that cracks in the Aam Aadmi Party’s Punjab unit are clearly visible now.

A group of three party MPs, namely Bhagwant Mann (Sangrur), Dr. Dharamvir Gandhi (Patiala) and Prof. Sadhu Singh (Faridkot), is reportedly dis-satisfied with the Punjab state convenor Sucha Singh Chhotepur. These three MPs did not participate in March 05 political conference of the Aam Aadmi Party at Anandpur Sahib. The Holla Mohalla conference was important for the Aam Aadmi Party as the party leaders blow the horn of 2017 state assembly elections during the conference.

“The decision of three main leaders and elected parliamentarians of the Aam Aadmi Party to keep distance from the Holla Mohalla conference shows that everything is not going well with in the state unit of the Aam Aadmi Party”, an ABP Sajha report maintains.

Bhagwant Mann, Dr. Dharamvir Gandhi and Prof. Sadhu Singh had recently criticized state AAP convenor Sucha Singh Chhotepur for not holding consultations with them while deciding to allow the entry of former Congress MLA Sukhpal Khaira in the Aam Aadmi Party. The things may unfold in coming day.
