Chandigarh: In a major development major political parties in Nagaland have agreed to come together to form an all-party government in the state as an attempt to find a political solution for decades old Naga conflict.

A report in The Indian Express notes that this was the second time that the northeastern state will have an all party government.

“The first such government was seen in 2015 when eight Opposition Congress MLAs merged with the then ruling Naga People’s Front (NPF)”, IE report reads.

A report in the NDTV notes: ‘[T]he resolution to form the all-party government was signed by nine legislators including Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, Deputy Chief Minister Yanthungo Patton and Leader of the Opposition TR Zeliang’.

The other signatories included president of NDPP Chingwang Konyak, state BJP chief Temjen Imna Along and NPF president Shurhozelie Liezietsu, NDTV report notes further.

The political parties involved in the five-point resolution have reportedly maintained that they will aim at promoting the Naga peace talks with a positive approach to find a political solution at the earliest.

Notably, the political talks between Naga groups and the Indian government have stuck to the wall as NSCN (IM) is firm on its demand for a separate Naga flag and Naga constitution.
