Chandigarh: After trailing during initial counting of votes, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi secured victory from Varanasi constituency.

Narendra Modi secured victory in the Varanasi Lok Sabha constituency with 612,970 votes. His closest opponent, Ajay Rai of the Congress Party, received 460,457 votes. Notably, Narendra Modi’s winning margin was his lowest ever in Lok Sabha.
In the 2014 and 2019 elections, he had won by margins of 3.72 lakh and 4.79 lakh votes, respectively.

As of 9:40 am, Modi is lagging behind Congress party’s Ajay Rai by a margin of 4998 votes. Rai has garnered 14503 votes, while Modi has secured 9505 votes, putting him in second place.
