NIA Files Another Chargesheet Against Jagtar Singh Jaggi, Gurjant Singh Australia and Others

Chandigarh: According to a press release issued by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) of India, the Indian agency on 28 May, 2018 filed charge-sheet against 15 persons in case no. RC-26/2017/NIA/DLI in the Special NIA Court, Mohali, Punjab.

Case RC-26/2017/NIA/DLI relates to firing at RSS Shakha at Kidwai Nagar in Ludhiana. According to the NIA press release the firing was an attempt to kill an RSS activist named Naresh Kumar. NIA maintains that the firing incident was part of a large conspiracy hatched in variou countries including, Pakistan, UK, Australia, France, Italy and the UAE.

NIA has filed chargesheet under sections 120-B, 307, 34, 379, 416 of the IPC; sections 16, 17, 18, 18A, 18B, 20, 21 and 23 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967 and sections 25 and 27 of the Arms Act, 1959.

Following persons have been charge-sheeted :

(i) Hardeep Singh @ Shera @ Pahalwaan;

(ii) Ramandeep Singh @ Canadian @ Bagga;

(iii) Dharminder Singh @ Guguni;

(iv) Anil Kumar @ Kala;

(v) Jagtar Singh Johal @ Jaggi @ Johar;

(vi) Amaninder Singh @ Mindu;

(vii) Manpreet Singh @ Mani;

(viii) Ravipal Singh @ Bhunda;

(ix) Pahad Singh;

(x) Parvez @ Farru;

(xi) Malook Tomar;

(xii) Harmeet Singh @ Happy @ PhD @ Doctor (Suspected to be in Pakistan – as per NIA);

(xiii) Gurjinder Singh @ Shastri (Suspected to be in Italy – as per NIA);

(xiv) Gursharanbir Singh @ Gurusharan Singh Wahiwala @ Pehalwan (Suspected to be in UK- as per NIA );

(xv) Gurjant Singh Dhillon (Suspected to be in Australia – as per NIA).

Like other chargesheets filed by the NIA in ‘related cases’ in Punjab, Taljit Singh @ Jimmy Singh is not chargesheeted by the NIA.

On being contacted by the Sikh Siyasat News (SSN), defense lawyer Advocate Jaspal Singh Manjhpur said that the NIA has submitted the chargesheet to the court. This is the 6th chargesheet filed by the NIA against the named persons, he added.

Advocate Jaspal Singh Manjhpur said that the defence is expected to get the copy of chargesheet from the court on next date of hearing which falls on June 5.
