NIA Gets 90 Days Extension To Submit Chargesheet Against Scottish Citizen Jagtar Singh Jaggi

Chandigarh: The National Investigating Agency (NIA) of India has got the 90 days extension which they had sought from the special NIA court in order to file chargesheet in 3 cases being investigated by the agency in Punjab.
Earlier last week the NIA had asked for 90 days extension to file chargesheet against Taljit Singh Jimmy, Hardeep Singh Shera and Ramandeep Singh Bagga for presenting chargesheet in case no. RC/18/DLI/17. The request was opposed by the defence but it was allowed by the Special NIA court of Ms. Anshul Berry today.

Similarly, in case no. RC/22/DLI/17 the NIA also got 90 days extension from the NIA court to submit chargesheet against arrested Scottish citizen Jagtar Singh Jaggi, and the agency further secured 90 days extension for presenting chargesheet against Taljit Singh Jimmy in case RC/27/DLI/17.
The NIA has asked for further 90 days extension to file chargesheet in case RC/25/DLI/17 against Amaninder Singh, Manpreet Singh and Ravipal Singh.
The agency has sought similar extension in case RC/23/DLI/17 against Manpreet Singh and in case RC/22/DLI/17 against Anil Kala and Taljit Singh Jimmy, to file chargesheet.
“We had opposed the NIA’s plea, but the court has allowed it”, Advo. Jaspal Singh Manjhpur told Sikh Siyasat News.
The NIA has also sought jail transfer of Jagtar Singh Jaggi, Taljit Singh Jimmy, Ramandeep Singh Bagga and Hardeep Singh Shera to Tihal jail in Delhi. The plea would come up for hearing in the Special NIA court (Mohali) tomorrow.
