Now Multiple Gurdwaras in Karnal Host Portraits of Sant Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale [VIDEO REPORT]

Karnal, Haryana: On September 28, Haryana authorities had requested Sikhs of Dachar village to remove portrait of Sant Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale from the langar hall of Gurdwara Kar Sewa ‘Raj Karega Khalsa’ Sahib as Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar was scheduled to visit the Gurdwara Sahib that day. The CM had later cancelled his visit as the Sikhs had refused to accept administration’s request.

Haryana CM is trying to underplay the incident but the Sikh sangat of Karnal took it seriously. Dachar Sikhs sought apology from CM Khattar and on his failure to tender the apology they announced to boycott the BJP.

Sikh sangat of Karnal district has now started a drive to install portraits of Sant Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale at various Gudwara Sahibs in the district.

Baba Gurmeet Singh, prabhandak of Gurdwara Kar Sewa in Dachar village said that Sant Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale was declared as ‘Great Sikh of 20th Century’ by the Akal Takht Sahib and drive to place portraits of Sant Bhindranwale in Gurdwara Sahib was an expression of respect by the Sikhs towards the great Sikh martyrs.
