While protesting chairman of APHR Haroon Sarb Diyal expressed concern over the targeted killings of members of Sikh community, Dawn reported.
Sikh leader Janmohan Singh lamented that one of their relatives identified as Amarjeet Singh was killed by unknown assailants inside his shop at Shaheedan Bazaar last Wednesday.

He termed the case an incident of targeted killing, which had spread panic among Sikhs and other minority communities.

“This was the sixth or seventh case of killing of our community member in targeted attack in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the government has failed so far to arrest the killers and take effective steps for providing us security,” he said.

Another Sikh trader identified as Harjeet Singh was shot dead last Saturday in Peshawar.

Diyal said that they were not satisfied with steps being taken by the government for their protection.

He lamented that legislators representing minorities in national and provincial assemblies had also failed to take up real issues of minorities with the authorities concerned.
