Chandigarh/ Punjab (August 27, 2014): Punjab chief minister has expressed his displeasure over Bhartiya Janta Party president Amit Shah’s decision to induct former Punjab DGP and Badal Dal leader Paramdip Gill to BJP. Parkash Singh Badal yesterday dubbed BJP’s move as “inappropriate and disturbing”. Badal Dal and BJP are allies in Punjab.
Notably Paramdip Singh had joined BJP at Amit Shah’s public function in Jammu.
“Eh badi maadi gal haigi (This is a very inappropriate move by the BJP)”, Punjab CM reportedly said in his response on the issue.
“Neither Shiromani Akali Dal nor the BJP should do anything like this. After all, we are partners” CM Badal told reporters at civil secretariat, Chandigarh.
Paramdip Gill who had unsuccessfully contested Punjab state assembly election in 2012 from Moga seat on Badal Dal ticket, was reportedly feeling “ignored” by the ruling party.
Badal Dal patron said that he was not informed about this announcement by either the local or high level BJP leaders of Punjab.
He, however, said that such “inappropriate and disturbing” moves by it’s partner will not affect alliance.
