Amritsar: As per media reports, the Punjab police have arrested a woman in the Ajnala case registered against Waris Punjab De chief Amritpal Singh and his associates. The case was registered in relation to a protest by Waris Punjab De supporters at Ajnala police station. The police term the incident as an attack on the police station.
A news report in Daily Ajit, a Punjabi vernacular, notes that on April 14 a woman was arrested from Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi in relation to FIR number 39 registered at Ajnala police station in February 2023.
The police ‘silently’ presented the woman in a court which sent her on police remand till April 17, notes Daily Ajit.
The report notes that around 32 people have been arrested by police in this case but the arrested woman is the first female to be arrested in this case. The news report has not disclosed her identity but notes that she belongs to Balachaur area.
