Jalandhar, Punjab: A duty magistrate of Jalandhar today extended the police remand of Harminder Singh Mintoo for four more days in a case under F.I.R number 105 of 2009 at Bhogpur police station.
Previously on November 08 a Jalandhar court had sent Harminder Singh Mintoo on police remand for eight days. As the police remand of Mintoo ended today, he was presented before duty magistrate Miss. Anuradha by a police party commanded by DSP Tarsem Singh Randhawa.
The police demanded 10 days police remand of Harminder Singh Mintoo that was opposed by defense counsel Advocate Jaspal Singh Manjhpur. The police insisted on getting 10 days remand arguing that Mintoo was to be taken to Akhnoor for ‘recovery’. After hearing the arguments of both sides, the duty magistrate granted four days police remand of Mintoo.
Talking to Sikh Siyasat News (SSN) over phone Advocate Jaspal Singh Manjhpur said Harminder Singh Mintoo was in ‘Chardikala’ (high spirits).
‘Harminder Singh Mintoo was physically and medically fit and he is being given his medicine’.
Mother of Harminder Singh Mintoo was also present in the court who briefly talked to her son.
It is notable that the police did not present Gurpreet Singh Gopi before the court. Gopi was arrested with Harminder Singh Mintoo but during today’s court appearance he was not presented along with Harminder Singh Mintoo.
