Patiala, Punjab (August 25, 2014): According to final results declared by Election Commission of India (ECI), Congress party candidate and former MP of Patiala has bagged Pataila state assembly seat beating her nearest contestant Bhagwan Dass Juneja with a margin of 23,282 votes.
Preneet Kaur bagged 52967 votes, where as ruling party candidate Bhagwan Dass Juneja got 29685 votes. Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidate Harjit Singh Adaltiwal was able to bag 5724 votes only.
Preneet Kaur had lost Lok Sabha seat from Patiala to Dharamvera Gandhi of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). Pataila seat had fell vacant after Amrinder Singh, husband of Preneet Kaur was elected as MP from Amritsar Lok Sabha seat.
