Prof. Bhullar shifted to Amritsar jail under heavy security; Place of detention to be decided after report of Medical board

Amritsar: Sikh political prisoner Professor Devinder Pal Singh Bhullar was transferred to Amritsar central jail from Tihar Jail, Delhi on today (June 12).

As per information Prof. Bhullar was brought to Amritsar in an ambulance under heavy security from Delhi police. Sources said that soon after the convoy entered Central Jail, Amritsar, the gates were closed and heavy secutiry deployed.
It is notable that Prof. Bhullar was undergoing treatment at Institute Of Human Behavior And Allied Sciences (IHBAS) Delhi since 2010.
As per information the administration has formed a 5-member medical board to examine Prof. Bhullar.
Depending on this medical board’s report, Prof. Bhullar will either be treated in the prison hospital or else be treated in a civil hospital outside, notes Hindustan Times (HT).
HT has quoted sources saying that Prof. Bhullar will be kept in the psychiatric ward at Guru Nanak Dev Hospital.
