Jaipur: Rajashtan high has granted relief to Sikh political prisoner Harnek Singh Bhapp who is presently confined in Central Jail, Jaipur. The High Court today granted parole of Harnek Singh, whose parole was cancelled by the Rajashtan government.
Notably, on April 13 the Rajasthan authorities had issued an order granting parole of 148 prisoners in wake of COVID-19 breakout. The list included name of Harnek Singh Bhapp. But his parole order was withdrawn before his release on April 17 after holding a special meeting of Rajashtan parole board.
Advocate Jaspal Singh Manjhpur, who maintains the list of Sikh political prisoners, told Sikh Siyasat News (SSN) that a petition against withdrawal of Harnek Singh Bhapp’s parole was filed in Rajashtan High Court.
“The matter was heard earlier today by Rajashan High Court Chief Justice Satish Kumar Sharma’s bench“, said Advocate Manjhpur while adding that “the court allowed the petition and granted 4 week’s parole to Bhai Harnek Singh Bhapp”.
Advocate Vishram Prajapati had appeared on behalf of Bhai Harnek Singh Bhapp before the high court during today’s hearing, he added.
