Moga, Punjab (February 17, 2104): With the most recent discovery that Parkash Singh Badal, had sought army action in a meeting with Union Home Minister PV Narsimha Rao, All India Sikh Students Federation (Peer Mohammad), demanded that Punjab Chief Minister’s should resign owing moral responsibility for his support to June 1984 attack at Sri Harmandir Sahib by Indian Government.

“The recent shocking disclosure exposed that Badal held a secret meeting with then Union Home Minister P V Narsimha Rao, Cabinet Secretary, the Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister Indira Gandhi and the Union Home Secretary in a guest house in New Delhi on March 28, 1984, wherein he sought military action at Golden temple” reads a written statement sent by AISSF (Peer Mohammad) to the Sikh Siyasat News (SSN).

“It is unholy, unworthy and unacceptable that Parkash Singh Badal whose role in supporting 1984 army invasion is proved beyond doubt, should continue as CM of Sikh State”, stated AISSF President Karnail Singh Peermohammad.

Justifying the demand that Parkash Singh Badal should resign as CM, AISSF President stated that that 1984 meetings between the Indian Government and Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD), poses serious questions regarding the credibility of the Punjab Chief Minister.

“With the dubious role played by CM Badal in supporting the army invasion of Sri Harmandir Sahib, the Sikh community has lost faith in his leadership and he should step down”, added Peermohammad.

That Indian Army’s invasion of Sri Harmandir Sahib in June 1984 on a day when the sacred shrine was most visited by Sikh devotees who had gathered to observe martyrdom day of Guru Arjun Dev Ji.

“The deadly Indian attack had resulted in the destruction of Sri Akal Takhat Sahib and doesn’t end with the death of over 10,000 innocent Sikh men, women, children, and the greatest Sikh leader in the modern history (Shaheed Sant Jarnail Singh Ji Khalsa Bhindranwale)” said Peer Mohammad.

AISSF president said that the SAD (Badal) leadership was also guilty of all the innocent blood that spilt since June 1984. This includes more than 30,000 Sikhs systematically killed during November Sikh Genocide and the 1984 to 2000 Punjab Liberation Struggle which resulted in the Indian police killing over 100,000 Sikhs across India.

“SAD (Badal) leadership is always playing with the emotions of the Sikh electorates, the party is blaming Congress (I) for their role in army invasion of Sri Harmandir Sahib and November 1984 Genocide of Sikhs, but on the other hand the Punjab Chief Minister himself held secret meetings ‘demanding’ army action from Indira Gandhi”, stated Peermohammad.

In June 1984, AISSF, President Shaheed Bhai Amrik Singh defended the sanctity of Sri Akal Takhat Sahib along with Shaheed Bhai Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale, and Sikh body lost thousands of its members who stood against the tyrannical Indian regime.
